Important Reminders To All Who Plan to Visit Baguio City

Tourists who wish to visit the City of Baguio should be informed of the following city ordinances and should abide by them during their stay:

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM is one of the 15-point agenda of the City Government of Baguio.

Baguio City welcomes RESPONSIBLE tourists.

FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED ORDINANCE. This ordinance was enacted to make the “First Come, First Served” policy mandatory in all instances.

✅

ANTI-DISTRACTED WALKING ORDINANCE. No pedestrian shall cross a street or highway while viewing a mobile electronic device in a manner that averts his or her visual attention to the said device.

✅

ANTI-LITTERING ORDINANCE. It is unlawful for any person to spit, urinate, and throw any kind of garbage in public spaces in the City of Baguio.

✅

CURFEW HOURS FOR MINORS. The prevailing curfew for minors in the city is from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM pursuant to existing local ordinances.

✅

KING OF THE ROAD ORDINANCE. All motorists are required to mandatorily stop for 5 seconds before a pedestrian lane for the safety of the pedestrian.

✅

SILENT NIGHT ORDINANCE. It is unlawful for any person to make or cause excessive, unnecessary, or unusually loud sounds from audio devices within residential areas and public streets in the City of Baguio.

NO BURNING! The burning of various inflammable matters, including the holding of bonfires outside of residences or any other public space, is prohibited in the City of Baguio.

ON INTOXICATION AND DRUNKENNESS. Under the codified liquor ordinances, being drunk and intoxicated or behaving in a drunk, rude, and indecent manner to the annoyance of another person in any public place in the City of Baguio is prohibited.

PROHIBITED PARKING PLACES. The Comprehensive Transportation and Traffic Regulations for the City of Baguio enumerates all the prohibited parking places.

ANTI-SMOKING ORDINANCE. The use, sale, distribution, and advertisement of tobacco products in public places is prohibited.

BAGUIO CITY CODING SCHEME.
📝 Number Coding is from 7AM to 7PM covering major roads of the central business district. Tourists are NOT EXEMPTED from the Coding Ordinance.

Monday (vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1-2)
Tuesday (3-4)
Wednesday (5-6)
Thursday (7-8)
Friday (9-0)

👉 No coding on Saturdays and Sundays

👉 Coding is never suspended during holidays, and may only be suspended during emergency cases such as typhoons, disasters, calamities or for public safety purposes.
